Poor Evie had to visit the doctor on her 1st birthday. She has been well for a year, minor runny noses here and there, and now she has RSV, as do most of the other kids we know. Arghh. She is still her happy go lucky self, though. She got to celebrate with her nonnie, ollie, and aunt abbie this past weekend-will post pictures later. She went to town on the homemade cake nonnie made. She was double-fisting cake bites and loving every bit of it. We are celebrating with mimi this coming weekend-hoping she will be much better by then.

Growing Up sooooo fast!

The girls adore each other. Amelia told me last night she wished she had 2 Evie's. Evie started walking 1/23--11 months. She is a happy happy baby...and FINALLY sleeping through the night! Late winter has consisted of snow days and trying to get outside when it is a little nice. We have been on several family hikes on the AT, strolls, play dates, dinner with friends, and family visits. Amelia is taking gymnastics and loving it. The girls will start swimming in March. Thomas' film will premiere at a film festival in Kentucky in late February. His DVD has already been selling online and will be available in stores probably in early summer. I have been working part-time (2 days/wk) the last year. I am now working on Mission's heart failure unit and have also taken a job with Mayland Community College as an adjunct clinical nursing instructor. I teach second year nursing students on my cardiac floor 1 day/week so now I am back to my usual 3 days/week. I have really enjoyed teaching and may eventually steer away from bedside nursing and go the teaching route...we'll see.

Halloween weekend with Mema and Lauren and Airstream camping in Hot Springs

We have had a great fall-lots of time as a family. We have spent a lot of time outside, taking advantage of the beautiful weather. We spent halloween with mema and cousin lauren, saw mimi and papaw for a couple of hours, aunt abbie helped us carve a pumpkin and took us to the park. We took the airstream camping in Hot Springs-Amelia and Evie really liked our little house on wheels-Amelia and Thomas canoed 5 miles on the French Broad River, the Troops met up with us for a brief jaunt on the river and late lunch, Thomas surprised me with a massage at the Hot Springs Spa...

Fall in Asheville

Picnics, visits from MiMi, corn mazes, pumpkin farms, pony rides, face painting, petting farm at Biltmore Estate, hikes, strolls, and more picnics...my favorite time of year! The girls are such loves. They play so well together and keep each other entertained most of the waking hours. Thank goodness-two gets easier by the day! Oh, and Evie is on the move. She started crawling a little before 8 months-she is trying to pull up too-she is not as cautious as Amelia.

Amelia turned 3 today!

We had a wonderful time celebrating Amelia's birthday today! Well, actually [one of her favorite phrases], we've been celebrating for over a week now. It started out with Thomas's smiley face pancakes with candles, hiking on the AT in Hot Springs, tulling around Hot Springs after the hike, ice cream, cup cakes, more playing, dinner, books and bed. Thomas said she started snoring the minute her eyes closed...she and Evie are really enjoying each other's company. It makes us so happy to see them play together!

We are spending the week on Amelia-our cousins are here too-we finally met our newest cousin, Lily, who is 3 weeks younger than Evie-the girls are having so much fun swimming in aunt MA and uncle Paul's pool.
